Given there are about a million restaurants in Toronto, with half a million new ones opening each week, it’s intimidating to choose where to eat. The city's dining scene is so popular it now includes a Momofuku, for Pete's sake.

Homemade food, kisses on my cheeks, and grandmotherly pats on the bum – these are the things that make me miss Italy. The night we spent in Mississauga cooking with two Nonnas (Nonne, to be grammatically correct) was a nostalgia trip so hard, I nearly cried a few times. Out of joy!
